Junior Outfitter
Age: 14 – 16
Junior Outfitters will “unplug” and immerse themselves in the outdoors by learning and practicing the primitive skills necessary to survive in the wilderness. The Junior Outfitter student will gain confidence and experience in back country living and outdoor leadership and are introduced to skills such as:
- Hunting
- Fishing
- Trapping
- Beginning wilderness first aid
- Shelter building
- Primitive and modern fire building
- Back country cooking
- Identification and uses of wild plants
- Tool making
- Knife safety and carving
- Axe and Hatchet uses and safety
- Water purification,
- Advanced tree identification
- Nature observation and awareness,
- Tracking and silent stalking
