Description
Our class consists of a full day of hands-on learning. We will focus on land and water furbearer trapping so bring your boots. The morning will be spent in and out of the classroom learning about the necessary equipment and tactics used for each target animal as well as fur handling practices. The afternoon will be spent in the field identifying key set locations and putting your new knowledge to work. When you leave at the end of the day, you will have the confidence and skills necessary to run a successful trap line. Knowledge learned will include:
- Scouting techniques using topo maps
- Equipment and proper preparation
- Target animal habits and strategies
- Set location choices
- Quality of students sets
- Knowledge of the rules and regulations
- Fur handling practices
- And more!
Certified Master Outdoorsman candidates will take a written test and upon completion will receive a certificate.
