Description
Calling all dog owners… another long awaited class is being offered June 30th at the NHOLC which will cover selecting, raising, and training retrievers to become effective upland bird and waterfowl dogs. There is nothing more impressive or satisfying than watching a well-trained dog just waiting for your command to retrieve a downed pheasant, woodcock, or grouse.
Wes Reed, of Rise and Shine Retrievers, has joined our team of instructors and as our field expert will show you the fundamentals and advanced tactics for training your dog for field work. Wes is an avid hunter of both upland birds and waterfowl and has pursued game from Quebec to Maine to Connecticut. His dogs hunt year round by participating in the AKC, HRC & NAHRA hunt test programs, as well as the Labrador Retriever Club working certificate and the American Chesapeake Club working dog programs. He has passed hunt tests from Maine to Florida under experienced judges from 14 states and Canada and loves to share his knowledge. Wes can be seen conducting retrieving demos at NH Fish & Game, Ducks Unlimited events or sportsman’s clubs throughout New England. In this class you will learn:
